Renault India is prepping up for the Duster facelift launch and in the mean time, Dacia is testing a pick-up version of the Duster; the testing prototypes were spotted completely undisguised. The test mule features a facelifted Duster face while the rear is similar to the current Duster (which is also not expected to change much in the facelift version). It is highly unlikely that Renault will launch it in India, as the French automakers Indian counterpart is getting ready for the Duster facelift, yes with a 4X4!

Speaking of the Duster facelift which is reportedly launching next month; it features a tweaked front while the rear receives elusive changes which are hard to notice on the first go. The side profile is kept same expect the new roof rails and probably new set of alloys to make way in the upgraded version. About the front, it gets a new headlight detailing in the same design while the grille gets swanky new honey combed mesh with silver detailing; these changes impart freshness in the Duster. Along with the exteriors, Duster facelift is also getting refreshed interiors which gets a nudge over the current ones when it comes to premiumness.

Mechanically, the Duster facelift will retain the current diesel engine i.e. 1.5L K9K in two state of tune 85PS and 110PS. The 85PS version incorporates inter-cooler with fixed-geometry-turbo producing 84bhp and 200Nm of torque mated to a five speed transmission. While the 110PS version gets inter-cooler with a variable-geometry-turbo gathering 108.5bhp and 248Nm of torque mated to a six-speed transmission. The interesting fact is that, seeing the competition from the Ford EcoSport with 1.0L EcoBoost engine and its success, Renault might launch the Duster facelift with a 1.2 TCe turbo petrol engine in India though it will be available globally. The engine in Renault car globally produces nearly 123.3bhp (125PS) while the torque is above 200Nm!
