Raj Sarkar appointed as VP Marketing by Ford India.
With EcoSport doing wonders for Ford India, the American manufacturer has announced that it would be strengthening its corporate team by making appointments to various fields like Marketing, Sales and Service. Out of these, the biggest announcement is the appointment of Raj Sarkar as its Vice President Marketing.In his new function, he would be reporting to Vinay Piparsania, Executive Director Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India.
“We are very pleased to welcome Raj to Ford India,” said Piparsania. “His extensive marketing experience along with the rich global perspective that he has gained over the years with Ford will surely help us go further with our brand and business in India.”
With over 17 years of experience in both product and consumer marketing for Ford Models in North America, his new role in India would entail brand building for the company. Reflecting back on his carrier with the American automobile manufacturer, Sarkar joined the company back in 1996 and has handled both product and consumer marketing for the F-150 truck line-up. On numerous occasions in the past, he also held key positions across Marketing, Sales and Strategy. Previously he was Manager, Lincoln Global Business Strategy, where in his role ranged from leading strategic projects and initiatives to managing governance and operations for the Global Lincoln team.
Another significant announcement made by the company was the appointment of Rahul Gautam as General Manager - Consumer Marketing. Previously Rahul held the position of B-car Product Marketing Manager, Ford Asia Pacific. In his new function, he would be responsible for conceptualizing and executing brand management programs for India car lines.
In another development,Vinay Raina who was General Manager Sales Planning has been promoted to General Manager—Product Marketing being responsible for marketing the growing portfolio of Ford nameplates in India.
For smooth and affecting functioning as per the company,the recently constituted Marketing team would therefore work in coordination with the Sales team headed by Anurag Mehrotra who is currently Vice President, Sales. He too was recently promoted to his current position this year in the month of February being responsible for building Ford's Sales network in the country.
