Premier Rio SUV launched
There is another SUV (sports utility vehicle) on the block – Premier Limited has recently unveiled its compact diesel SUV RiO in the Indian car market. The RiO is priced at - Premier RiO EX – Rs. 5,66,791, Premier RiO DX – Rs. 5,93,003 and Premier RiO LX – Rs. 6,40,182 (prices ex-showroom). Premier RiO has been designed keeping in mind the segment between mid-size passenger cars and large utility vehicles. Premier RiO is based on a Daihatsu model sourced from China from Zotye Group that sells close to 100,000 units of this model per annum.
According to Goel, general manager, Marketing, Premier Limited, “We have re-entered the Indian market with India’s first ever Compact Diesel SUV. With the luxurious comfort in Rio along with its unbeatable pricing strategy, we are optimistic of redefining Indian customer’s perception about an SUV.
Premier RiO can easily seat five people comfortably and is powered by Premier’s 1489cc turbo diesel engine based on Peugeot technology capable of producing 65 BHP. The RiO’s fuel efficiency is pegged at about 16 km per liter.
Currently, Premier RiO would be assembled at Premier’s Pune plant and would be available across 60 dealerships soon to be expanded to 200 dealerships. The Premier RiO is available in Brick Red, Tafeta White, Sleek Silver, Royal Black and Cool Blue.
The compact SUV has power steering, front power windows, central locking and CD/MP3 player and is available in both A/C and non-A/C versions. The top models have additional features like anti-lock breaking system (ABS) and alloy wheels.

65bhp is a joke to call it a SUV. please premier people start dealerships. service networks, sparees distribution before going to the customer. else we will not see ur company again. its a competitive market not monopoly of padminis, ambassadors, 800's. good luck. use common sense
