Possibilities of Volkswagen to land in Gujarat soon
There is still a fluster as to Volkswagen has hit the Gujarat land for its further investment plans or not. The German company which has kept on hold its Rs. 2,000 crore investment plan in Maharashtra is now exploring the new possibilities of a car plant to be set up in Gujarat. The consultancy company which is also working with the Volkswagen, met there officials some time ago and they visited certain locations, which were in and around the Ahmedabad and Vadodara.

The source which is working towards the development could not tell the exact amount of investment to be done but they did disclose that the plant is smaller than some of the existing car factories of Gujarat. But as the Volkswagen spokesperson told that the company is not going to set any plant and no such plans have been made. Volkswagen India has put its expansion plans on a hold because of the issue of VAT refund which is still pending. Although, the German auto car manufacturer announced about its investments operations in India in January for enhancing the capacity of there plant, they already have two manufacturing units at Chakan and Aurangabad in Maharashtra.
