Maruti Suzuki India has announced a recall of 87,599 units of the Maruti S-Presso and Maruti Eeco due to a possible defect in a part of the steering tie rod. These units of the entry-level offerings were manufactured over nearly two years, between July 5, 2021 and February 15, 2023.

The brand’s dealerships will call the buyers of the impacted units to examine and replace the problematic component on their vehicles, without any charges. According to the manufacturer, the defective part of the steering tie rod may affect the vehicle's handling and maneuverability, and worst of all, it may break in rare cases.
