It is likely to receive tweaked exterior styling and an enhanced list of features

As we all know, the Nissan Terrano shares its underpinnings with the Renault Duster. It is part of the Renault-Nissan alliance, under which the duo operates in India. In March 2016, Renault introduced the refreshed Duster and added an AMT variant as well. Nissan also equipped its Terrano with the same AMT unit in the month of October last year. Now, though, we can confirm that the Japanese carmaker will launch the refreshed Terrano on March 27, 2017.

As is the case with nearly all mid-life updates, the Nissan Terrano will feature cosmetic updates and an enhanced feature list. On the outside, the SUV is expected to get restyled headlight and taillight units, a reworked front grille, newly designed alloy wheels and tweaked front and rear bumpers. To give the interior a bit of liveliness, the revamped Terrano might get a reprofiled dashboard which will house a touchscreen infotainment system with built-in navigation support, cruise control and automatic climate control.

Powerplants for the Terrano are expected to remain unaltered. There will continue to be a choice between a 1.6-litre petrol motor or a 1.5-litre diesel. While the petrol engine is tuned to produce 104PS of power and 145Nm of torque and is only available in the XL variant, the diesel mill is available in two states of tune. The XE and XL Plus variants get the 85PS/200Nm of power figures and both the XV trims (MT and AMT) get 110PS/248Nm at their disposal. That means the updated model will boast the same performance figures (acceleration, top-speed and fuel-economy) as the current model.

With a refreshed look, the Terrano will also bring in an updated price list. The current price range of the Japanese SUV varies from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 13.95 lakh. This puts it up against the Honda BR-V, Mahindra Scorpio, Hyundai CretaTata Safari Storme and its sibling, the Renault Duster. Would you put your money on the Terrano over the others?
