Nissan has slashed it's Sunny's prices by a whopping 17 per cent
After trying giving out discounts on the Sunny in the previous months, Nissan has finally slashed its prices by a whopping 17 per cent across all trims. The Nissan Sunny prices now start at Rs 6.99 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The drop in prices is applicable from April 20, 2017. The reason for the price drop is accredited to the increased localization of the components as per the company statement.
With a dip in prices, the mid-size sedan becomes the most affordable CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) option available in its category. Its XV CVT model now costs Rs 8.99 lakh from the earlier Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Despite being a decent product, Nissan hasn’t been able to grab sufficient market share with the Sunny, thanks to the limited after-sales service network. The carmaker has updated its vehicle from time to time but that doesn’t seems enough to get the ball rolling. The sales figures of the vehicle for the month of January and February, 2017, read 104 and 282 units, respectively. These are enough to tell the sorrow state of the car in the country.
The Nissan Sunny recently got a facelift on January 17, 2017. The space continues to be the USP of the Japanese sedan. It gets chrome garnishing on door handles and a new body colour – Sandstone Brown. Inside the cabin, the new Sunny boasts of an optional all-black interior, including dual-tone black and gray fabric seats and black-coloured plastic panels.
However, Nissan is reluctant to bow down amidst increasing pressure from peers and will be launching eight new products by 2021. Let’s see what the future holds for the Japanese auto major.
