More Powerful 1.2L Turbocharged Petrol Duster?
Our Renault Duster is known to world as Dacia Duster; Dacia is Renault's fully owned economical brand in Europe. Now, reportedly Dacia UK has been evaluating Renault's 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine for the Duster as a future addition to the engine line-up and it recently launched facelifted Duster in UK, facelift is also heading our way with the Duster AWD on 24th next week.

Moreover, if things go well, UK will be getting a turbo charged petrol Duster in coming time. As far as India is concerned, Duster is an important product for Renault and its major rival Ford EcoSport is riling with its efficient yet punchy 1.0L EcoBoost engine, chances are high that Renault will introduce this engine in India too. Apart from the UK, Dacia last year debuted Duster with this engine in some parts of Europe.
Speaking of the turbo petrol engine, it's Renault's 1.2 Tce motor. The 1.2 liter direct-injected turbocharged motor extracts a healthy 123.3bhp (125PS) at 5250rpm and 205Nm of max torque at a low 2000rpm. This engine is used by variety of Renault and Nissan cars across the globe with some of the big names like Juke, Qashqai, Megane, etc. Adding to it, Renault has already started testing its upcoming Lodgy MPV in India and in other markets Lodgy comes with this same engine, so chances are more that Renault India will start producing this engine in India. If it debuts in Duster, it will boast a potent turbo petrol motor to take on its arch rival and segment leader Ford EcoSport.
