Mitsubishi Pajero Sport’s next iteration of the Heart-in-Mouth rally will be held in Pune on 14th February. Adding more excitement to an already adrenaline pumped event is the participation of Dakar winner and world famous rally driver, Hiroshi Masuoka.

The event will be held on February 14 at Pethkar Motor Grounds, Balwantpuram, Paud Road, Kothrud. Another elephant in the room is the comeback of the Montero to the Indian market. HMFCL management tells us that they are trying to bring the Montero through the CKD route in order to keep the pricing low in the ball part of Rs 50-55lakh. The otherwise price, if the Montero is imported, would touch the Rs 80-85lakh mark making it a no-brainer. Also the company aims at increasing the current 40-41 dealerships to 49 in the year 2015.

The rally event will see Masuoka San bashing around in his Pajero Sport and showing off driving performances both across on-road and off-road tracks. All Pajero owners can actually accompany him on the exhilarating drive and get a firsthand experience of the vehicle’s handling, mileage, stability and power on different terrains. Masuoka San has expressed his happiness over participation in the forthcoming event stating, “As a rally driver, I know how much difference a vehicle can make, whether in a race or in everyday driving. For me, a drive in the Pajero has always been an adrenaline shot”. He wants to show the true potential of the Pajero Sport and its superior driver assistance systems which can shame SUV’s of even higher price tags.

Uttam Bose, Managing Director, HMFCL said, “Pune event is yet another endeavour by HMFCL-Mitsubishi to delight its internal and external customers.” Participants also get the chance to directly interact with Masuoka San and get his perspective on off-road driving during his India visit.
