Mitsubishi’s ‘Heart in Mouth’ rally came to an exciting end with the residents of Pune enthralled by superior driving skills of Dakar winner and world rally champion, Hiroshi Masuoka. The ‘Pajero Heart-in-Mouth with Masuoka’ event organised here by Hindustan Motor Finance Corporation Limited (HMFCL) and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Japan saw the participation of over 120 Pajero customers, 50 dealers and their staff and other Pajero fans.

The route chalked out by the team was carved around a treacherous hillock located at Pethkar Motoring Grounds. Although difficult for off-road vehicles, but turned out to be no problem at all for the advanced Pajero Sport.

Astride the car was 54-year-old Masuoka who knows rally driving better than anybody around, the drive was uncomplicated. Many got the opportunity to sit beside Masuoka and experience the genius at work driving around on his favourite Pajero Sport in its natural territory. The maestro states, “I am not doing anything special. I am just driving the car as per the conditions”.

The entire drive that included sharp downhill slopes as steep as 70 degrees with potholes, boulders and watery patches on the path, Masuoka had Pajero Sport in third gear and he applied no brakes. “The machine is designed to take all kinds of terrain,” he explained. On the event, Masuoka also promoted safe driving with the launch of a booklet featured on safe driving. The company also announced the formal launch of Pajero Sport for the Maharashtra region at a meeting of its dealers at Pune.
