Maruti to ramp up output by 10 per cent from Oct

Maruti Suzuki, country's largest carmaker, intends to increase its output by about 10 per cent for producing over 1.1 lakh units every month from October. If this is achieved, the annual production of the company will be more than 13 lakh units in 2011-12 in comparison to that of around 12 lakh units planned for this fiscal. As per the industry sources, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has already started the work for ramping up its production from last month. A source was quoted saying that many of the company’s cars have long waiting periods. In order to speed up the delivery, MSI is ramping the capacity in both Gurgaon and Manesar plants.
