Maruti Suzuki Celerio Diesel Delivers 27.62 kmpl!

It will be India’s most fuel efficient car, most likely to launch next month and will debut Suzuki’s first diesel engine!

Maruti Suzuki will launch Celerio diesel in coming weeks and the vehicle will debut Japanese automaker’s first ingenuously developed diesel engine. This 800 cc diesel in the Celerio will be first oil burner from the Suzuki's new in-house developed diesel engine family. Now, in the current tiff of becoming India’s most fuel efficient car, Celerio will take the crown with the new diesel heart, it will reportedly deliver an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 27.62 kmpl. The hatch is reportedly launching in the first week of June and will rival Hyundai Grand i10 and Chevrolet Beat.

Speaking of the new engines, according to recently leaks the 793 cc oil burner will muster a measly 47 bhp @ 3500 rpm and a max torque of 125 Nm @ 2000 rpm. The diesel engine will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission and AMT is also expected to come any time soon. With the AMT and the diesel, Celerio would become the most economical diesel automatic in the country along with the most fuel efficient car too!  

Apart from these, Celerio diesel will carry the similar features like its petrol sibling along with no alterations to the design, save for the DDiS badge! It will offer the features like, Bluetooth enabled audio system with steering mounted controls, manual air conditioning, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, etc. Moreover, it also offers similar color option like its petrol counterpart.
