Maruti Celerio Diesel Launch Imminent: Production Starts at Manesar Plant
Without an iota of doubt we can say that Celerio, the small hatch has been a heartthrob in the Indian market for a long time. There are obvious reasons behind its success, the stylish look, fuel economy and the best part of the whole i.e. Automated Manual Transmission. So to keep the ecstasy going on, Maruti decided to launch a diesel version of this desirable car. The testing has been going on for quite some time, but recently revealed spyshots has placed this excitement on a whole new level.
Celerio Diesel Model is set to Become the Most Fuel Efficient Car in the Country.
The car was caught by spycams at company’s Manesar manufacturing plant, that hint towards its early launch in the market. The DDiS badge on the car can be clearly seen which means it will house a new indigenously developed 793cc 2-cylinder diesel engine which will produce power between 52-58bhp along with a peak torque of around 150Nm. Following its previous success strategy, the carmaker can also introduce AMT diesel trim. But it is sure that Celerio would come with a class leading or it would not be exaggerated to say ‘industry leading’ fuel economy of around 30kmpl, and that's an awesome figure!
As per the changes, there would be hardly any, as with its superhit models, most of the time Maruti works on ‘Dont fix if ain't broken’ strategy. But subtle changes can be expected inside out. Last and the most important aspect from Indian consumer’s perspective i.e. the price, we can expect the diesel Celerio costing between INR 4.8 lac to INR 5.8 lac. So we have crossed our fingers and waiting for the launch.
