Maruti Alto titled the best selling small car in the world
Maruti Alto wins the world's best-selling small car title yet again. This is the second time in a row the small car has won the title for 2011 garnerering 3,11,367 sales in India till date and the only car to have crossed the 3,00,000 sales mark where the nearest competitors are far behind well under it. The next up is the Volkswagen Golf selling 293, 454 units followed by Fiat Uno selling 273,537 units both making outrageous sales in the Brazilian car market to make it to the top five best-selling small car list.

Maruti Suzuki India chief Mayank Pareek proudly stated that Maruti Alto is undisputedly the leader in the small car segment and no new car has ever succeeded in toppling the car from its numero uno position, be it the Hyundai Eon or any other car for that matter.
