Maruti Alto K10 to be launched next month
Maruti Suzuki will soon launch the renovated and fresh new version of Alto next month. This entry level car of the company has been a great support to its sales. According to the Maruti officials, the new car will be called Alto K10 and will be powered by a larger 1000-cc engine. It will also flaunt its new exteriors and interiors. The new model will be 125 mm longer than the vintage version. It will also have more space than the company’s badges in the ‘B’ segment like Estilo, the old WagonR and A-Star, said the officials.
Though the officials denied to give any other details about the car but according to a spokesman, the new model will be an affordable but aspirational product. It will be priced in the range of 2.8-3.4 lakh, somewhere between the Alto Lxi and Estilo LX.
As the company’s rivals Tata Motors and Hyundai Motor India are also planning to launch a similar car for the premium entry-level segment, Maruti has decided to relaunch its Alto with some new features. Hyundai is planning to come up with a model that will be priced below Santro and Tata Motors is working on a model that will fit between Nano and Indica. Small cars like Ford Figo, Nissan Micra ,VW Polo and Nano were do not address Alto's market segment.
An executive of Maruti also said that the game plan of the company is clear. As the rival launches are not due anytime soon so Maruti Suzuki will make the most of the opportunity as it is no longer about spotting the chance but getting there first.

all new Maruti Alto K10 would be launched in the first week of August and is expected to fall in the price range of 2.8 to 3.5 Lacs. As you wanted to know about the K series engine,the K series engine was launched by Maruti 2 years back.It is a light weight aluminium engine that offers better mileage and performance due to its light weight. Currently there are two types of K series engines available in the Indian market K10 and K12. K10 is a 1.0L, 995cc engine which is currently powering new Wagon R, A-star and Zen estilo. The K12 engine powers Swift and Ritz.
