Mahindra XEV 9e One-Above-Base Pack Two Variant Explained In 13 Images

The Mahindra XEV 9e is available in four variants: Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select and Pack Three, and is offered with two battery options: a 59 kWh and 79 kWh pack. Among these, the one-above-base Pack Two variant is the only trim to be offered with both battery packs. Deliveries for Pack Two have recently commenced, and in this report, we take a look at the Pack Two variant in images:

Front

At the front, the XEV 9e Pack Two doesn’t have a lot of design differences compared to the other variants. It has a futuristic blanked-off grille with a wide LED light bar stretching across the front, connected to inverted L-shaped LED DRLs. The headlights sit lower on the bumper in a sharp triangle enclosure. Right in the middle of the hood is Mahindra’s new logo. The bumper is body coloured with a silver skid plate.

Side

From the side, the XEV 9e looks unique with its sloping roof that gives it an SUV-coupe body style. There’s chunky gloss black cladding over the wheels and doors. The front door handles sit flush with the body, while the rear ones are hidden on the C-pillar. It comes with 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with aerodynamic covers for enhanced efficiency..

The XEV 9e you see in the image here gets the Nebula Blue body paint. Other colour options of the eSUV in the Pack Two trim include Stealth Black, Tango Red, Everest White, Ruby Velvet, Deep Forest and Desert Myst. 

Rear

At the back, the XEV 9e gets an LED tail light strip that runs across the width of the car. The new Mahindra logo and the XEV 9e badging sit boldly on the centre of the tailgate. The Pack Two variant doesn’t get a powered tailgate option like the higher variants. The bumper also has a silver skid plate like the front.

Interior

The XEV 9e Pack Two’s cabin feels premium with a dual-tone grey and beige theme and leatherette seat upholstery, along with plenty of soft-touch materials on the dashboard and doors. 

The dashboard houses a large glass panel with three connected screens – one for the driver, one for the infotainment system, and one for the co-passenger. The two-spoke steering wheel carries the new illuminated Mahindra logo and comes mounted with controls for audio, calling, and cruise. There’s also a fixed glass roof but it doesn’t have illuminated elements like the higher variants.

The driver’s seat offers 6-way power adjustment with manually-adjustable lumbar support, as well as memory and welcome retract functions. Rear occupant comfort is well taken care of by multi-step reclining rear seats. Both front and rear occupants get centre armrests, with storage space for the first row passengers and cupholders for the second row. 

Features & Safety

The Pack Two variant of the XEV 9e offers features like 12.3-inch triple screen displays for infotainment, digital driver’s display, and passenger entertainment, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Additional features also include a wireless phone charger, dual-zone auto AC with rear vents, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, auto-dimming IRVM, push-button start/stop, adaptive cruise control, multi-drive modes, and connected car tech. 

This variant misses features like ventilated front seats, rear wireless phone charger, powered tailgate with gesture control, rear window sun shade, one-touch up/down driver window, air purifier, a 360-degree camera, auto park assist, and AR-based head-up display, all of which are reserved for higher variants.

For safety, the XEV 9e Pack Two is equipped with six airbags, unlike seven in the higher trims. It also gets electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, electronic parking brake, rain-sensing wipers, rear parking camera, rear defogger, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and level-2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).

Powertrain Options

The Pack Two variant of the XEV 9e is now equipped with the larger battery pack as well, and it is the only trim to be available with both battery options. The detailed specifications are as follows:

Price & Rivals

The Mahindra XEV 9e rivals the Tata Harrier EV and BYD Atto 3. The XEV 9e’s overall prices range from Rs 21.90 lakh to Rs 30.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Its Pack Two variant is priced as follows:
