Mahindra Genio to be exported in future

Mahindra Genio, the 1.2 pick up truck best suited for the Small business are looking forward on shipping the newly build commercial vehicle in future.

Arun Malhotra Senior Vice-President Sales and Customer Care, Mahindra & Mahindra present at the launch said that the company is looking forward to export the new commercial vehicle. The company during conceptualization of this project was targeting the international auto market also. The commercial vehicle is sure to perform well in the pickup segment.

He said that the auto giant is already shipping various cars in the international auto markets. However the Mahindra Genio is truly an international standard commercial vehicle well showcased in its comfort design and convenience. These are the reasons why the Indian auto company wishes to market it in the foreign markets.

At present, Mahindra Bolero, the SUV is exported to South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) auto markets and some parts of the South African auto markets. He revealed that around 1,700 car models which includes Mahindra Scorpio are exported monthly from the company.

Further mentioning about the new commercial vehicle, it was revealed that the company started the production of Mahindra Genio at the Chakan manufacturing unit 10 days ago. The company will first target the Indian auto markets and after that it will aim for selling the product in the international auto market.

Mahindra Genio in the Tamil Nadu auto market is placed at the “captive” segment in the pick up vehicle segment.

Mr. Malhotra said that the new commercial vehicle sports car like comfort features as most of the buyers prefer driving it on their own. He added that the new Mahindra Genio carries the same engine as in Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra Xylo which are passenger cars. The most amazing feature is that Mahindra Genio is available in varied colours which is the first in its category. Mahindra Genio B53 version will come with a price tag of Rs 5.05 lakh and the BSIV complaint will be Rs 8,000 costlier in Tamil Nadu.

He added that the Chakan plant in Maharashtra holds manufacturing capacity of 2,000 units every month which will can be exceeded when required. Mahindra plans that the new commercial vehicle is in its first phase and will be available in the 70 dealerships outlets and later will spread to the 240 dealership outlets of the company.
