Here’s When The Mahindra Vision S, Vision X, Vision T And Vision SXT SUV Concepts Will Be Launched

Mahindra has showcased its new concept SUVs: Vision T, Vision S, Vision X, and Vision SXT on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day. All these SUV concepts are based on a newly designed NU IQ platform, which is capable of underpinning multiple body types and powertrain setups, including ICE, EV, and hybrids. The carmaker has also shared details on when you can expect to see the production avatars of these concepts in the market.

Vision S

The Vision S concept is a sub-4 metre prototype, and it looks like a baby Scorpio with a more modern skin. It gets a boxy and upright design with highlights including elements like dual-pod LED headlights, pixel-shaped LED fog lamps, modern-looking flush-type door handles, and camera-based outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). 

Inside, it gets a dual-tone navy blue and grey interior theme, leatherette seat upholstery with contrasting white stitching, a dual-screen setup on the dashboard, and a 3-spoke steering wheel. Notably, this concept will be the first one to be launched in India among the 4 prototypes.

Vision T

The Vision T concept appears to be a rugged SUV closely tied to the Thar family. It features a boxy silhouette, squared-off wheel arches, yellow bonnet latches, visible door hinges and chunky all-terrain tyres. It looks like an evolved version of the Thar E concept shown in South Africa in 2023. The rear has two vertical tail lamps and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. 

From a glimpse inside, the Vision T is expected to have a tech-loaded interior with Mahindra bringing back plenty of physical button controls. We could spot a 3-spoke steering wheel, a portrait-oriented large touchscreen display for infotainment, as well as a floating curved driver’s display. The Vision T will also likely feature a dark cabin theme in its production version.   

The Vision T is expected to potentially enter production and launched in 2027.

Vision X

The Vision X concept appears to be the design inspiration for the next-generation Mahindra XUV 3XO. Key highlights include LED headlights positioned lower on the bumper, a closed-off grille with six chrome slats, 19-inch aerodynamically styled dual-tone alloy wheels, and flush-type door handles with NFC access for all four doors.

Inside, it is the first Mahindra SUV to feature an integrated curved dual-display setup: one for the infotainment system and the other for the digital driver’s display, paired with a modern 2-spoke steering wheel. The Vision X is expected to arrive in both ICE (internal combustion engine) and EV versions.

Vision SXT

The Vision SXT is a pickup-style concept that takes a lot of inspiration from the Thar E and Vision T concepts Key design highlights include pixel-like projector headlamps with DRLs and indicators, a chunky off-road bumper with a silver skid plate. There are sharp creases, angular body cladding, C-pillar-mounted rear handles (similar to Thar Roxx), and chunky off-road tyres on the side. At the rear, it sports twin spare wheels mounted in the flatbed and vertical tail lamps that underscore its pickup identity. 

The interior of the Vision SXT looks funky and opulent. Mahindra has opted for a black and orange colour scheme, complemented by a massive vertically oriented touchscreen at the centre and a fully digital instrument cluster.  

It is still uncertain whether the production-spec version of the Vision SXT prototype for India will be offered with an ICE or EV powertrain. The Vision SXT is expected to enter production sometime in 2028.
