GM's Electric car: Spark to be introduced in India
General Motors, the leading auto maker of the world, tied-up with Bangalore based Reva Electric Car to introduce electric Chevrolet Spark, the hatchback from GM, in India by next year. This compact and affordable electric car would be developed with electric car experience of Reva and GM will provide Chevrolet Spark platform and producing facilities. After the successful launch, if it were, both the companies will launch this car, electric Chevrolet Spark, in Europe, China and South Korea.

This compact and affordable electric car would be developed with electric car experience of Reva and GM will provide Chevrolet Spark platform and producing facilities. After the successful launch, if it were, both the companies will launch this car, electric Chevrolet Spark, in Europe, China and South Korea. The ambitious mini dream would be produced in GM's Gujarat and Maharashtra plants that both have annual capacity of 225,000 vehicles. Reva, which launched its first electric car in 2001, is a global leader in producing low-cost electric cars. Recently, Tata Manza and Chevrolet Cruze were launched in India.
