GM to bring Chevrolet Spark to India
General Motors may roll out its compact car Chevrolet Spark's diesel variant in India by the end of the year. The car is believed to have lower price tag than petrol version of Chevrolet Spark. So far, no information is available for the diesel variant. However, it may be equipped with Sub 1L common-rail diesel engine. P Balendran, vice-president, corporate affairs, GM India said that The company was working on alternate fuels, including diesel, for its small car Spark which might hit the stands in due course of time.

It aims to sell these cars in West Asian, Latin American, Asia Pacific and the European markets. According to the sources, the company foresees these markets as fastest growing markets and intends to leverage its profits to pull out its parent company from the credit crunch.
