GM roll out LPG version of Spark
General Motors India today launched its LPG version of Spark. The small car Spark has the price tag of Rs 3.52 (ex-showroom Delhi). The company also intended to launch two more cars in the market. The luxury sedan Chevrolet Cruze is scheduled to be launched in September and a compact car by the year-end. General Motors India President and Managing Director Karl Slym told reporters here that the company will launch other variant of the Spark to cater to the need of the their customers. Mr Karl clarified that the recent bankruptcy was not for the Indian arm of the GM.

GM India had announced an investment of $200 million for constructing an engine transmission plant of two lakh units per annum capacity at Talegaon. It was in addition to the already-invested $300 million in a manufacturing plant in the same locality that produces 1.4 lakh units a year.
The company has another facility at Halol in Gujarat that has a production capacity of 85,000 units a year.
