    Ford India registers 36 percent sales growth in June 2014

    Ford Motor India registered 36 percent growth in the month of June 2014, at 11,935 units as against the 8,771 units in the corresponding month last year. The domestic sales of the American auto major stood at 7,258 cars in the month, as compared to 7,145 cars in the same period year-ago while the exports rose to 4,677 units in the same month.

    “The Government’s decision to extend the excise duty concession is a welcome move and will certainly uplift consumer purchasing sentiments as we head into the festive season over the next few months,” said Vinay Piparsania, executive director of Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India. “It reflects the government’s recognition of the importance of the manufacturing sector and its contribution to overall economic growth.”

    Last month, Ford India's combine domestic sales and exports stood at 12,288 cars. The Blue Oval sold 6,053 units in May 2014 as compared to 4002 units last year, accounting for a hefty 51 percent rise. In terms of exports, the company shipped 6235 units as up against 1991 units in the same month last year.

    Recently, Ford introduced ‘Monsoon Ready Service Camps’ for its customers across the country. It aims at providing ease and comfort to its customers during the monsoons. The service camps include a free car wash and vehicle report card, offers on new wipers, batteries, brake pads and suspension parts. Customers bringing their Ford cars to monsoon service camp can avail an extensive 50-point check. The trained mechanics at Ford will check the engine, transmission, steering, brake, tyre conditions, windshield wiper blade, washer motor operation and clutch. The service will also include general cleaning as well as a comprehensive check-up for oil level and leaks. The company is also giving Rs 500 off on a new battery and Rs 1,000 in return of the old one (buy-back offer). To know more, click here
