Ford EcoSport Launch Confirmed for March-End in Nepal

According to popular reports on the Internet, the eagerly awaited Ford EcoSport is scheduled for launch in Nepal by March end, 2013. According to Go Automobiles, Ford's authorised dealer in the country, only the petrol variant of the EcoSport SUV will be launched at first. From what we can tell, this is probably a move to generate more publicity for the Ford EcoSport in the country before launching the diesel version.

The EcoSport that is destined for Nepal and India as well, will house the famed 1.0-litre 3-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine that cranks out roughly 118bhp along with 170Nm of peak torque. As far as mileage goes, we have no concrete details as yet, but the expected Ford EcoSport petrol mileage is in the proximity of 20kmpl.

In addition to the fuel efficiency, the EcoSport price is also expected to be relatively low in order to better compete with the massive sales generated by the Renault Duster. We have been constantly reporting to our readers that the EcoSport will be launched in early 2013. Now that Nepal has confirmed the launch at March-end, we can safely assume that India will get the EcoSport SUV before or around the same time.
