Decade-old models Alto, Santro, Indica in top four best-selling list
They may be the cheapest cars in India but they are the largest-selling cars too. We are talking about the old models like Suzuki Alto, M800, Hyundai Santro, Mahindra Bolero, Ford Ikon, Hyundai Accent and Tata Indica. These cars are still giving a tough competition to the new cars. In other markets, most models have a limited shelf life but in India companies rarely phase out an old model entirely.

Models like Alto, Santro and Indica have been given place in top four best selling cars of India. This proves that the Indians’ romance with their old cars can never reduce. It is a fact that three cars of the top four highest-selling models in India are all a decade old or more. These three cars are Alto, Santro and Indica.
RC Bhargava, Maruti Suzuki chairman said that the largest-selling cars in India are still the cheapest cars. Alto has proved to be the biggest volume gainer for Maruti as it is a full service car at low price. He also said that customers get similar features in all cars and the basic technology is not that different, so why not go for something tried and tested.
