Could Renault consider Scenic MPV for India?
MPV segment is relatively scanty in India. The French car manufacturer Renault has one such MPV, Renault Scenic offered in the markets abroad which has the potential to make its mark in the domestic car market. Renault India might place the Renault Scenic price smartly, in the range of Rs 8 – Rs 12.5 lakhs which could be a value proposition from the auto major. This price tag could make the Renault Scenic MPV sit in direct competition with the established player in the segment, the Toyota Innova.

However, Renault can do with some clever strategizing and strip the base variant of these upmarket features. This could considerably lower the Renault Fluence price for the base variant. Toyota Innova which literally rules the MPV segment, is an uncrowned king. Though not as much, but to an extent Mahindra Xylo MPV also has enough market share in the MPV segment. Maruti Suzuki India is slowly gearing up to introduce its own weapon in the MPV segment, the Maruti Ertiga. So, Renault Scenic is inarguably a right option from the auto giant to make a debut in India.
