 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Chevrolet is all set to introduce their Trailblazer in India. The premium SUV will be launched tomorrow in the country and after Captiva, will be GM’s second attempt to dominate the premium SUV segment. Trailblazer will be a CBU product and will be imported to the Indian market. Also, the SUV will be available in a single variant (automatic, 4X2) which is expected to cost Rs. 29 lacs (ex-showroom). The highlights of the car include its Duramax motor which produces a massive 500 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm and its sheer size with a ground clearance of 231 mm.

Engine

Powering this mammoth is a 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder Duramax engine which produces a class leading 200 PS of power at 3600 rpm with 500 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The only drawback to these figures is the missing 4X4 variant as only the 4X2 variant will be available in the country for now.

Size

The SUV is 4,878mm long, 1,902mm wide and 1,847mm tall, and with a wheelbase of 3,096mm, Trailblazer is the largest vehicle in the segment. This car can carry a weight of 2,068 kg and with a huge ground clearance of 231mm, this SUV will tackle almost any terrain.

Safety

Trailblazer will come equipped with dual-front airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control and ABS+EBD.

Exteriors

The mighty exteriors of the SUV have the familiar Chevy dual-port grille accompanied by swept back projector headlamps and foglamp housings with chrome garnishes. Side look is dominated by the large windows, wrap-around rear windscreen and the understated wheel arches. The rear gets wrap around LED taillamp cluster and some chrome accents.

Interiors

Trailblazer will come with Chevrolet’s MyLink 7-inch, touchscreen infotainment system. This infotainment system has satellite navigation, reverse parking camera with sensors along with a host of connectivity options.

Rivalry

Trailblazer will rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Hyundai Santa Fe, Isuzu MU 7, Honda CR-V and the upcoming Ford Endeavour. CR-V is available only in 5 seat arrangement with a petrol variant which makes it slightly less of a competitor to Trailblazer.
