    BMW launched its sports-car Z4 Roadster

    BMW the German luxury car maker today launched its sports-car BMW Z4 Roadster priced at Rs 59 lakh. The two-seater sports-car is powered with a 2,979 cc petrol engine which has being launched as a part of the company's move to strengthen its position in the Indian luxury car segment. BMW India President Peter Kronschnabl told that the company is targeting to sell 30-40 units of the BMW Z4 Roadster in the first year. Currently the company is all set to compete with rival German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz for the top slot in the Indian luxury-car market.

    BMW India President Peter Kronschnabl told that the company is targeting to sell 30-40 units of the BMW Z4 Roadster in the first year. Currently the company is all set to compete with rival German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz for the top slot in the Indian luxury-car market.

    Peter Kronschnabl had earlier said the company sells the BMW 6-Series and BMW 7-Series in the luxury segment, BMW X3, BMW X5 and BMW X6 in the sports utility segment and BMW M3, BMW M5 and BMW M6 in the convertible sports coupe category as completely-built-units (CBU) in India. BMW had last month announced a USD 50 million investment into the auto finance project. Tata Manza and Chevrolet Cruze are going to launch in India soon.
