Bentley Bentayga launched at INR 3.85 Crore

British luxury car manufacturer Bentley has launched the Bentayga SUV, with prices starting at Rs 3.85 Crore.

The Bentayga is the first SUV from the British marquee and they have made sure it stands out. The design is quintessentially Bentley with trademark elements such as the split circular headlamps, large mesh grille and subtle character lines. The interiors are equally bespoke, featuring a blend of exquisite handcrafted wood and leather. Available in four- or five-seat configuration, all of the seats feature contrast stitching and a quilted diamond design, which Bentley say echoes the design of “a finely tailored British hunting jacket”.

As is the case with most Bentleys, the Bentayga can be customised to suit the owner’s tastes. The most talked about option on the list of course, is the mechanical Mulliner Tourbillon by Breitling clock, that costs nearly a crore ($160,000). Buyers can choose from a standard palette that includes 17 exterior paint colours, and up to 90 hues that are available in the extended range. For the interiors, one can choose between fifteen carpet options, seven different handcrafted veneers and fifteen different interior trim hides. While 20-inch alloys are standard, one can choose optional designs in 21-inch or 22-inch as well. It is safe to assume that no two Bentaygas will be alike.

The Bentayga is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine. The 12-cylinder unit belts out 600bhp of power and a whopping 900 Nm of torque. With a 0-100km/h time of just 4.1 seconds and a top whack of 301km/h, the Bentley is the fastest production SUV in the world.

The Bentayga is in a league of its own. The only thing that comes close, is the Range Rover LWB that costs Rs 3.8 Crores.
