Audi Introduces First-Ever Diesel S Q5

Audi is quite well known for its 'S' model range of cars that usually take the platform of one of the other Audi flagship cars and “Sports” it up, thereby giving us an enhanced version of the same. Now Audi has taken the famed S-Class of cars and turned it not only powerful, but frugal as well. That's right, Audi has initiated the UK bookings for the very first diesel powered SQ5 which is available for a price of Rs. 38.95 lakh. According to Audi, the deliveries will start by the spring of 2013. The very first SQ5 cranks out 309bhp while offering a mileage of 14.51kmpl.

In order for this new SQ5 to work, Audi has cleverly taken their latest 3.0-litre, V6 BiTDI and put it into the SQ5 so as to strike the balance between performance and frugality. Additionally the SQ5 also incorporates Audi's 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission that channels the 309 horses through the cars drive to achieve top speeds of 250kmph and 0-100 in just 5.1 seconds.

All of this additional power is achieved via means of two interconnected turbochargers. The Cylinder head cooling, the timing and lift of the intake cam shafts, the pistons, their oil-jet cooling and the piston pins are all specially designed for high performance. The car has also been lowered by 30mm with sports suspensions for increased performance.
