Volkswagen to roll out revamped Touareg SUV soon priced at Rs 55 lakh
Volkswagen Touareg, which was the first SUV of Volkswagen in India, will very soon welcome its facelift. The new Volkswagen Touareg facelift was recently featured in Shahrukh Khan’s movie, Ra.One. New Volkswagen Touareg is destined to be launched in India very soon because the teasers of the car have already commenced along with the Ra.One movie promotions. If sources are to be believed, the launch of the facelifted Volkswagen Touareg SUV is in the next few weeks. Volkswagen Touareg facelift price will be no less than Rs 55 lakh.

Volkswagen India will bring the new Touareg SUV into India as a completely built unit (CBU) only which speaks for the lofty price. The facelifted Volkswagen Touareg SUV is expected to house the same diesel engine variant, the 3 liter common rail turbo diesel TDI engine producing 240 Bhp of peak power and a gigantic 550 Nm of peak torque. However, this identical engine will be tweaked from transmission perspective. The mighty muscular diesel engine will be mated to an 8 speed tiptronic automatic transmission, an upgrade from the current Touareg’s six speeder one.

This development is expected to make the new Touareg SUV 20% more fuel efficient than the predecessor. Also Volkswagen Touareg will effectively use BlueMotion Technology that results in reducing fuel sipping and emission. The new Volkswagen Touareg is expected to shed 200 kilogram of weight thereby making it faster and scotch. This is possible due to a plethora of weight saving measures adopted by Volkswagen like usage of plenty of aluminum instead of steel which makes the car lighter. The Touareg SUV styling now follows Volkswagen’s latest design philosophy with the now familiar traditional grille up front.
