Lamborghini Huracán, Lamborghini's newest weapon in its sports car arsenal is said to have at least 5 variants. This was said by Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. As of now, four variants of the car have already been introduced and work for a lighter and faster variant is on. Also, there are reports that Stephan Winkelmann will soon be replaced as the CEO of Automobili Lamborghini by former Ferrari Formula One chief Stefano Domenicali who became a member of the Audi family last year.

As of now, Huracán comes as LP610-4 coupé,LP620-2 Super Trofeo race car, LP610-4 Spyder and the latest, LP580-2 rear wheel drive version which was launched in India on November 20, 2015 for Rs. 2.99 Crores (ex-showroom Delhi). The new additions could be in the form of LP580-2 Spyder, Superleggera or Superveloce. Mr. Stephan also said that Huracán is one of the most flexible products of Lamborghini and that it has been developed keeping multiple variants in mind. He said, “Unlike the Gallardo, where our derivative strategy came after the car was developed, and was also mainly in the second part of the life cycle, with the Huracán we initiated all those things during the development of the base car,” He added “For sure there will be a car that is going in the direction of ‘lighter’ and ‘faster’," he said. "We are really looking at a lot of approaches. In simple words, we want to cover lifestyle, fun to drive, performance, high performance and race,"

Speaking more on the derivatives he said, “It could be more than five derivatives over the life cycle. We have a lot of ideas that are already planned, but the more we think, the more things are coming up; it’s a matter also of whether we can allow ourselves to do it because we also have to consider investment, production capacity and complexity.” He added “The effort we made in the beginning of the car’s development was remarkable and now we need to work to get all these derivatives into the market."
