Toyota Corolla Facelift Showcased in Guangzhou Auto Show

We brought to you coverage from the Guangzhou Auto Show a few days ago in which we showed our readers the various concepts from different automakers. However, apart from concepts, the auto show also featured the facelift version of the Toyota Corolla EX sedan. In China, both the old and the new versions of the Toyota Corolla are sold simultaneously.

Changes to the exteriors include a re-vamped front grille design, new headlamps set into a re-designed bumper and a new set of extra large tail lights. The interiors have a touch of re-vamping as well; we get a new instrument and center console along with slight design changes to the dashboard. The new dash now gives a cleaner cut feel to the interiors. The colour tone in the interiors has undergone a change too; the new dash comes with a dual black on beige colour tone.

In China, the Corolla EX sedan houses a 1.6-litre petrol mill that generates 120bhp and 152Nm of peak torque, all of which is transmitted to the drive via a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The face-lifted Corolla costs Rs. 8.0 lakh for the base variant and 10.12 lakh for the top end model in China.
