Renault Logan to be removed from the company's new Indian portfolio
Renault, the French car manufacturer is to come up with a new portfolio for the Indian Auto market by the mid of year 2011 but surprisingly the famous sedan, Renault Logan has not been able to make a place in this refreshed Indian portfolio. Renault has decided that the Renault Logan will not be re-launched at the time company will come up with a new portfolio for India.
The twist lies with the fact that in the coming 3 to 4 months, the accord between Mahindra Mahindra and Renault is coming to an end which will have a great impact on Logan as it will no more come under the Renault portfolio and will bear a new name tag and exclusive logo for unique identification.
As per the statements made by Mr. Jerome Stoll who is the Executive Vice-President in Renault SA, the company will not include Logan in the company's portfolio and has no future plan to include this saloon in the portfolio.
The main ownership of Logan will go under the Indian manufacturer, Mahindra Mahindra which will look for the production and selling of this sedan. Though the accord will come to an end between the two companies, the car model would still be loaded with Renault's transmissions and engines. The month of April 2010 marked the ending of partnership between the two companies with the sale of more than 45,000 units of Logan in Indian Auto marke.
At present Renault has no individual presence in the domestic market but the coming 4 to 5 months will bring a grand entry of this French major through some top global car model's launch by the company. In the initial stage, the company will bring its famous sedan, Renault Fluence followed by the Sports Utility Vehicle, Renault Koleos.
