Nex-gen Fiat Linea Under Development?
Italian manufacturer, Fiat, is supposedly testing its next generation C-segment sedan, Linea. The car is is seen testing on some Swedish roads and is covered in heavy camouflage. It is said to replace the current Linea in several European and American market next year and hence its Indian advent is quite far. This all new car will also be based on Fiat’s ‘small-wide platform’ that deals with front wheel drive and all-wheel drive vehicles.

The images show that the car worked upon is wider than the current Linea. Also the silhouette appear more contemporary, unlike the current car that carries a classic character. The sides depict a long wheelbase while the dropping rear windscreen ends in a compact sporty boot. It could be a good reason for people to turn towards Fiat’s offering if the company plans it for India as the line-up out here needs a little more attention and has to be improved with time.
This all new Linea will join Fiat’s brand new line-up of cars that will include a hatchback and a station wagon that will probably be sold in abroad solely and will see production not before 2016. There are other rumors as well that Fiat is also planning to bring in some new sub-compact cars that may land in India.
Speculatively, this car may be powered by the 1.4 litre T-jet petrol and the 1.3 litre Multijet Diesel while the global spec version may use higher capacity engines, like the 2.0 litre Multijet diesel.
