New Toyota Auris to Make a Public Appearance at Paris Motor Show

The nex- gen for Auris will make its public appearance during the Paris Motor Show 2012. Toyota however, has already uncovered the pricing for the second generation of Auris for the UK market along with the specifications. The car will launch in December in Britain at a price range of £14,495 for the base petrol model which goes all the way up to £21,745 for the Hybrid (Rs 12.54 lakh to Rs. 18.82 lakh). The lineup will have 4 variants in total. The variants will have the Toyota Touch & Go with satellite navigation and a Skyview panoramic roof.

The hatchback, Toyota Auris will be offered with four engine options with both petrol and diesel. The variants will include a 1.33-litre engine delivering 98bhp, 1.6-litre petrol engine that is capable of delivering 130bhp. For diesel there will be a 1.4-litre D-4D diesel which will deliver a power of 88bhP and 2.0-litre D-4D delivering 122bhp along with the 1.8-litre petrol – electric hybrid which delivers 134bhp.

The petrol and diesel variants will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission which will be a standard. The hybrid will be come with an exclusive E-CVT automatic and the 1.6-litre petrol variant will also have Toyota’s Multidrive S CVT as optional. Hill-start Assist Control, new follow-me-home lighting system, seven airbags, LED daytime running lights and Vehicle stability control.

 The base trim, Active comes with an automatic air conditioning, electric front windows, an audio system with USB and Aux connection and MP3 file player and heated and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors. The Icon trim will have 6-speaker audio system with DAB tuners, rear view camera, leather covered gear lever and steering wheel, rear electric windows, front fog lamps etc. The hybrid will also get a push-button start. Toyota Touch multimedia control screen with Bluetooth will also be available.

The next level trim, the Sport, will get sport front seat, rear diffuser, grille, exhaust trim, 17-inch wheels and a rear privacy glass. The Excel trim offers dual-zone climate control, Smart Entry and Start, Cruise Control, park assist, electric folding mirrors, rain and light sensors, heated front seats etc. The driver’s seat will come with lumbar support.
