Mercedes-AMG GT to be unveiled on September 9, 2014

In a recent teaser video, Mercedes confirmed that its powerful and potent Mercedes-AMG GT will be unveiled on September 9. This official announcement has been done at the end of teaser video. The automaker tested this vehicle over 15 different countries with temperature varying from chilling minus 30 to as hot as upto 50 degree Celsius. As interiors and engine details are already out, the car will carry a 4.0 Liter V8 Biturbo engine.

According to the manufacturer, Mercedes-AMG GT is developed over the 32 months of engineering road-tests. In order to keep the vehicle disguised, Mercedes used 2.974 square meters of camouflage sheets. The road test was done by 50 different test drivers. After the unveiling, the car will make its first public debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

"The technological substance of the Mercedes-AMG GT underscores our high aspirations with regard to driving dynamics, agility and sportiness. Following the global success of the SLS AMG, the new GT is the second sports car developed fully independently by Mercedes-AMG. An initial exclusive look at the design of the interior shows what is in store for our customers: a GT sports car in its purest form."

As per the details revealed by the company, the potent M178 engine is the next generation V8 engine in AMG family and will be used in the future AMG models after GT. The powerful 4.0 Liter V8 Biturbo engine develops a maximum power output of 510hp at 6250 rpm and 650Nm of peak torque at 1750-4750 rpm. This 3982cc engine weighs 209 kg and is compliant to Euro 6 emissions standard and will also be used in upcoming C63AMG.
