Maruti, the Most Desired Brand Reveals Vuclip Survey

Before we get into what were the findings of the survey, a little about Vuclip. It is the world’s largest largest independent mobile video destination which allows users to search for and watch videos on any mobile device that is video-enabled. They recently unveiled the findings of its mobile survey on four wheeler purchasing forecast and brand sentiments in India. The findings were revealed during ad:tech which was held in Bangalore on 27th September.

Talking about buying behavior, the survey reported that nearly 54% of the total respondents (1,84,786 mobile phone users) were planning to buy a car within the next one year. It also showed that nearly 48% of respondents were interested in a car which carried a cost of less than Rs. 7 lakh, indicating a major opportunity for small and mid segment car manufacturers. The survey also stated that the purchase decision for a four wheeler depends majorly on the cost (15%) followed by the value, brand, engine and looks (12% each), safety (11%) and comfort and service plan (9%).

Taking into account 1,09,242 mobile users from India it was found that the 24% respondents claimed to own a Maruti which was double to its nearest competitor Hyundai. Maruti also emerged as the top choice for 21% of respondents in India followed by Hyundai with 14% and Honda at 11%. Hyundai and Ford registered a growth of 2% each as the desired brand against the current number of owners. Coming to luxury brand perceptions, BMW was received the maximum votes with 29% overall votes followed by Bentley at 10%, Audi and Mercedes – Benz at 9% each and Jaguar and Rolls – Royce at 8% each.
