Maruti Suzuki SX4 Facelift to Come in Early 2013

Maruti Suzuki has almost always done well with their small cars in the Indian market; that coupled with their extremely strong dealer network gives Maruti Suzuki almost nothing to complain about in the entry and mid-level sedan segment. The keyword here is 'almost'. While Maruti Suzuki's other cars are mostly doing well, the SX4 and Kizashi models have never really been able to grab the market success that MSI may have expected; so much so that MSI was forced to put a halt to the import of the Kizashi model.

However, as far as the SX4 goes, MSI still has hopes for this one; a fact that can be seen clearly in the pictures of this test mule SX4 that was caught in Gujrat. As we had predicted in our news story previously, the facelift version of the Sx4 gets minor revisions to its front fascia in the form of a new chrome studded grille with a new honeycomb mesh design. The bumper has a more beefed up look to it as well.

While these pictures do not show the interior, we do not expect any changes to it or the technical specifications. Currently the SX4 houses a Fiat sourced 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine and a 1.6-litre K-Series petrol and CNG engine.

So does MSI really think a few cosmetic changes will help the SX4 take on the big guns like the Skoda Rapid , Volkswagen Vento and Nissan Sunny? Stay tuned with CarDekho to find out. Cheers!
