Maruti Launches Limited Edition Wagon R ‘Xtra’
It is based on the mid-spec VXi trim of the hatchback and gets an accessory kit to make it more appealing
- The Wagon R Xtra is priced at a premium of Rs 22,990 over the VXi 1-litre MT and VXi 1.2-litre MT respectively.

- Maruti is offering the Wagon R Xtra with the same 1-litre and 1.2-litre engines, albeit only with the 5-speed manual transmission.
Maruti has introduced a limited edition of the Wagon R, dubbed the ‘Xtra’, based on the mid-spec VXi trim. The VXi 1-litre MT and the VXi 1.2-litre MT variants with the accessory kit of the limited edition are priced at Rs 5.35 lakh and Rs 5.70 lakh respectively. It comes with an accessories kit priced at Rs 22,990, which otherwise costs around Rs 33,000 if the items are purchased individually.

The Wagon R Xtra is available with both 1-litre (68PS/90Nm) and 1.2-litre petrol engines (83PS/113Nm), albeit only with the 5-speed manual gearbox. However, the standard model also gets a 5-speed AMT with both these engines. The Wagon R also gets a CNG variant with the 1-litre engine (59PS/78Nm), paired to a 5-speed MT.

Since the Wagon R Xtra is based on the mid-spec VXi trim, it should get the same equipment list as well. Maruti offers the Wagon R VXi with keyless entry, manual AC, electrically adjustable ORVMs (outside rearview mirrors), and a 2-speaker sound system. Safety features on the VXi trim include a driver-side airbag (passenger airbag is optional extra), ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.
The Wagon R is priced from Rs 4.80 lakh to Rs 6.33 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It rivals the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai Santro, Datsun GO, and Tata Tiago.
