Mahindra Logan CNG Version Launched

Mahindra & Mahindra has finally launched the much awaited CNG version of its famous Logan in Indian Auto market. The availability of CNG Kit is made on 1.4 GLE and GLX trim levels. This launch is yet limited to Delhi and Mumbai only but soon company will spread the launch all over the country.

The Logan 1.4 GLE CNG variant is priced at Rs 6.04 lakh and Rs 6.33 lakh for GLX CNG variant. If we compare it with the prices of non CNG models a difference of Rs 56,000 will be observed (all price on-road Mumbai). The CNG Kits fitted by Mahindra & Mahindra are manufactured by Landi Renzo Spa which also supplies CNG kits to other major car manufacturers like Renault, Tata Motors and now Mahindra a& Mahindra. This high technology CNG kit will be fitted by Logicon in the Logan models.

The CNG kit of Logan will measure twelve Kg in weight and will come at a warranty of two years or 50,000km from its manufacturer. A saloon fitted with CNG system is a good option and will trigger good demand in market like that of India where fuel efficiency plays a major role. The CNG variant is expected to increase the demand of slow-selling Saloon from Mahindra & Mahindra. As per the company claims, the CNG fitted variant will reduce the fuel cost by 60 percent.

On the occasion of this launch, Mr. Arun Malhotra who is the Senior VP of Automotive Sector in M&M stated that growing concern towards environment issues like carbon footprint and climate change has forced the company to launch this CNG version of Logan. According to him, this launch is step to achieve sustainable development by the company. The company claims the running cost with this CNG kit will reduce by Rs 1.62 - 2.26 per km compared to normal Rs 3.93 - 6.11 per km.
