Jaguar and Land Rover Facility to open in May
The luxury car brand, Jaguar and Land Rover held by the Indian auto major, Tata Motors, has recently announced an assembly unit which will come into operation in the month of May. With this manufacturing unit, the company is intending to start the assembling process of its Land Rover FreeLander 2 by May, 2011. With this facility the SUV will cost Rs 8 lakh less than the current price.
With this huge drop in the price of Land Rover Freelander 2 it will become a competent rival of the market leader BMW X1 and the Toyota Fortuner. The drop in price of this SUV will help the company attract better sales in the much growing SUV segment. The price of Toyota Fortuner is expected to increase and reach up to Rs. 30 lakhs and it can be a major advantage to JLR as the competition in the SUV segment will decrease. Thus the Indian car lovers can cheer as the all powerful and luxurious Land Rover FreeLander will be made available at lower prices in Indian auto market.
The upcoming facility in Indian auto market of the company will be the 5th of Land Rover in the world. The other facilities of the company are established in Malaysia, Pakistan, Turkey and Kenya.
