Hyundai showcases 2016 Elantra GT
Hyundai just revealed the 2016 Elantra GT at the Chicago Auto Show with upgraded styling and more consumer centric electronics onboard. Though for the American market, the Elantra GT could be a winner here as well with the growing number of cross vehicles in the market.

The new model gets a stylish new face and 17 inch alloy wheels reflecting a sportier outlook. Sitting under the bonnet is a 2.0 litre Gasoline Direct Injection engine developing a modest 173bhp of maximum power at 6,500rpm and higher torque of 208Nm peaking between 4,000 to 5,500rpm. Hyundai claims a combined fuel efficiency figure 10.2 km to litre of petrol.
Elantra GT’s revised front grille adds a distinctive and assertive look more consistent with Hyundai’s newer models. Its sporty look is further complemented with wraparound headlamps and sculptured hood creases. The body-side graphic features a chrome beltline moulding to keep up with the sleek character lines. Sharp projector headlamps, available fog lights, and it is all finished off at the rear with available LED taillights.
The other highlight is the incorporation of creature comforts inside the cabin for added comfort. The dynamic seating layout allows more cabin space, cargo hold and versatility. The seating setup accommodates five people or four people with more cargo with the seats folded down. Taking centre stage on the dashboard is a new navigation system in a 7 inch touch-screen that also doubles as a rear-view camera. Then is a dual-zone climate control that has an automatic defogging system that detects humidity through a sensor and activates the system accordingly. A panoramic sunroof supports more natural light inside the cabin.
