Hyundai could roll out 2012 Sonata Fluidic on March 19th
Hyundai unveiled the upgraded 2012 Sonata Fluidic sedan in the 11th Auto Expo held in Delhi. As per a leading car dealer, 2012 Hyundai Sonata Fluidic is anticipated to be launched in India on 19th of March, soon after the announcement of the 2012 Union budget. The Japanese auto maker has initiated the assembling of the car through CKD (completely knocked down) kits at its Chennai plant. The fate of a car is decided by its pricing and in the case of Hyundai Sonata Fluidic the final bid on the price would be taken post the Union Budget which will decide whether Sonata Fluidic will meet the fate of previous Sonata models or not.

Apparently because of the CKD assembly the 2012 Sonata Fluidic is expected to be priced competitively. This D-segment segment sedan will be launched in petrol trim level only in the domestic market. In India, the Hyundai Sonata Fluidic will be powered with the 2.4 GDI petrol engine producing a peak power of 200BHP and a peak torque of 255 Nm. This engine will use the direct injection and variable valve timing technology and will be offered with both manual and automatic transmission choices in six-speed versions.

The 2012 Hyundai Sonata Fluidic will come loaded with safety features like ABS, EBD, ESP and six airbags. The car will sport rear parking camera, 17 inch wheels, 10 and 4 way electrically adjustable ventilated seats for the driver and the passenger respectively in addition to leather seats and cruise control. The Sonata Fluidic is expected to compete with the 2012 Toyota Camry, the Skoda Superb, the Honda Accord, the Volkswagen Passat, and the Maruti Kizakshi. However, the price would be the biggest determining factor while rating the car for its luxury element and success.
