Ford Plans to Launch Ecosport Facelift in UK by 2016
According to certain reports, Ford is planning to launch the EcoSport Facelift with 1.0L EcoBoost engine in UK by 2016. These cars will be built and exported from Chennai plant and are expected to have modest changes while moving to the English country.
The British EcoSport is expected to have revised steering system with better control and superior interior built quality. Company also claims that more sound insulation is added to the car. Suspension system is also reworked and gets new dampers. Spring rate is changed and the suspension is lowered by 10 mm.
Buyers can expect the American company to add a rear view camera with an upgraded Sony stereo supporting bluetooth to the vehicle. Although the English version can lose the spare wheel but is equipped with, ‘Black Pack’ which is something that can really grab the attention of everyone.Black Pack adds gloss black alloys, door mirrors and roof mirror to the automobile. They have also removed roof rails to give it a sportier look. Mechanically, the Indian and British version have the same 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine but the latter produces extra 15 bhp of power (a maximum of 138 bhp), thanks to the retuned engine. As a result, the 0-100 km/h time is also reduced by 1 sec. The engine is paired to a 5-speed gearbox delivering a fuel economy of 17.8 kmpl.
The expected price for the UK version is £17,500 (INR 17.68 lakhs) approximately with deliveries starting from June.
