Like the current Punto-Linea duo, the upcoming sedan is also expected to be based on the Punto's successor, the Argo.

According to the Brazilian media, Fiat will reportedly showcase the successor of the Linea at the upcoming 2017 Buenos Aires Motor Show in Argentina (June 9, 2017). The recently unveiled Fiat Punto’s successor, the Argo, will also have its public debut at the same motor show.

The information about the Linea’s successor (codenamed X6S, likely to get a different name), is scarce at the moment. And we are not even sure whether it will be a production-spec model or a concept. That said, in all probability, it is likely to be the former since the Linea is ageing, just like the Punto EVO.

The styling of the X6S is believed to be different from the Argo (codenamed X6H), likewise the outgoing Punto and the Linea. In the same vein, both the X6S and the X6H are likely to share the same dashboard with subtle changes. Both the cars are expected to offer near identical feature lists. Speaking of their engine options, if launched in India, both the Argo and X6S sedan are expected to get familiar 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel and 1.4-litre T-Jet turbo petrol mills.

The Argo is likely to be launched in India in a couple of years; expect the X6S to enter in the same time frame. However, nothing has been made concrete by the automaker. Stay tuned to CarDekho for the global debut of the Argo and the X6S sedan.
