Fiat Tipo Estate Rear-end Officially Teased
Fiat has teased the rear end of Tipo sedan’s estate version by releasing an official sketch of the car’s rear-end and tail light cluster. Tipo sedan made its debut in international markets, last year.
Italian automaker, The car is expected to make its way to India soon, however, the possibility of its India debut does not seem quite promising, as the car is not available in right-hand drive variants in countries like the United Kingdom.
Tipo will act as a replacement for the Linea sedan and the hatchback version of the same will replace Punto hatchback in Fiat’s lineup available in European countries. Furthermore, the Tipo estate is expected to make its world debut at the upcoming 2016 Geneva International Motor Show.
This mid-size family estate will be offered in both petrol, as well as diesel variants and it is expected that in terms of the powerplant, the car might remain unchanged as compared to the sedan version. This is to say that the to-be-showcased Tipo Estate (Unconfirmed Moniker) might continue to be powered by the same, 1.4-litre 16v Fire 95HP and 1.6-litre 1.6v E.torQ 110HP petrol units.
Taking on the duties for the diesel variants will be the 1.3 MultiJet II 95HP and 1.6 MultiJet II 120HP turbocharged diesel mills. The powerplants are expected to come coupled with options of either a five- or six-speed manual gearbox, along with that of a six-speed automatic transmission.
It is also expected that if and when the sedan version of Tipo is launched in India, it might be powered by the under-development (reportedly) all- new 1.5-liter MultiJet diesel unit. The petrol variants of the car might continue incorporating the 1.4-liter T-Jet from Linea.
