Fiat the famous Italian car manufacturer is planning big for the Indian auto market. The company in association with Tata Motors improved the sales figures for Tata Motors. The company is to start its work on the small car market in India. Fiat has registered a great success with its top performing models, Fiat Punto and Fiat Linea. The pricing of this new segment model from Fiat is expected to lie below Fiat Palio. Thus the range of these small cars from Fiat will lie in the range of Rs. 4 lakhs. With these new product plans the company will come in competition with the names like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motors.

Fiat motors is speculated to be working on a small car model with an engine capacity of 1 liter and the launch of this model is scheduled in the year 2012. Among the other major plans, Fiat will come up with Bharat Stage IV engine loaded Fiat 500. The launch of this new model is expected in the end of running year. .

Addressing the issue, Mr. Rajeev Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer of Fiat, commented that the company is expecting better output from its Ranjangaon plant which is situated in Maharashtra. The major reason for this improved output is related to new projects which Fiat is looking for. With the newer and bigger plans, the company would need a strong production capacity. It might be possible that the company makes investment in this plant for production enhancement.
