Fiat Linea exported to Sri Lanka, other RHD countries

Fiat Linea's recent sales report shows that its sales have been steadily declining over the few months. This scenario for the Italian car maker is likely to change as Fiat India has decided to start its very own dealer network in the country. However to keep up the sales for the time being, Fiat India is exporting the Indian made Fiat Linea to all Right hand Drive car markets like Sri Lanka. Fiat Linea price is between a range of Rs 6.5 lakh-Rs 9.06 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) in India. Despite Fiat Linea being offered in the domestic car market in 10 variants in 3 engine options, Fiat Linea sales remained lukewarm to say in the least.

Fiat Linea is also expected to be exported to other car markets like Bhutan and Australia. Earlier when the car models offered by Fiat and Tata Motors were showcased in the Tata sales outlets, consumers had an option to choose from both the automobile manufacturers. The competition in the car market has influenced Fiat India’s decision to open its standalone sales outlets. Fiat engines are used by various car manufacturers for its diesel engine technology. Maruti Suzuki India is known to depend on Fiat’s diesel engines for its car models. Apart from Maruti India, Fiat also supplies its wide-range of petrol and diesel engines to Tata Motors.
