Fiat Linea Classic launched at Rs. 5.99 lakh
Fiat India has finally launched the Linea Classic sedan in India for Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Linea Classic is dimensionally identical to the regular Linea model, but it misses out some of the features to keep costs down. The affordable Linea Classic will compete against the likes of Honda Amaze, Maruti Swift Dzire, Chevrolet Sail, Nissan Sunny and others.

The Linea Classic is an entry level car, which offers value for money. Currently, the company has 79 dealers across the nation, and plans to increase the tally to 100 by the end of 2013. While justifying the launch of affordable Linea Classic, Fiat India said that the market share of entry level sedans in India has raised to 15 per cent in 2013 as compared to 12 per cent in last fiscal.
The Fiat Linea Classic is now available in both petrol and diesel options - a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel motor and a 1.4-litre petrol. The diesel engine is detuned to offer maximum output power of 75bhp, while the petrol mill is capable of developing 88bhp. Linea Classic is available in five colours - Oceanic Blue, Tucsan Wine, Minimal grey, Hip Hop Black and Pearl White. It comes equipped with various features such as hydraulic power steering, programmable speed limit buzzer, Dual Parabola headlamps, fire prevention system and many others.
Speaking on the launch, Mr. Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and Managing Director- Fiat Chrysler Operations India said, "FIat India has exciting plans for this festive season. To celebrate and share the festivities with our customers, we have launched the Linea Classic which will give them the luxuries of a sedan at the price range of a hatchback. Indian is an important market for us and this endeavour is an important step for Fiat in that direction. We are optimistic about our prospect for growth in the Indian car market, which is rapidly becoming one of the major markets in the world. With the launch of the Linea Classic, an expanding dealer network and upcoming marketing initiatives, we will be in a strong position to capitalize on this growth. This car will be an attractive offering for the customers at a very affordable price and we plan to reach the incumbent and prospective customers in all the cities through our 79 dealerships in the near future".
Fiat Linea Classic is available in three variants - a 1.4L Petrol Classic, a 1.3L Multijet Classic and a 1.3L Multijet Classic+. The petrol model is priced at Rs. 5.99 lakh, while the other two are diesel models, which are priced at Rs. 6.95 lakh and Rs. 7.50 lakh, respectively.
