Bajaj to display ULC to Renault

Bajaj Auto, the second biggest two wheeler firm as per sales in India which was in limelight for its ultra low cost car has showered interest in coming with ULCV model to come in the four wheeler segment. The Indian auto company will exhibit its model types to Renault it partner in this year.

Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto said that the company is keenly interested about the car. As per the makers the new car's model will be exhibited to Renault.

As per the report the Indian side was keeping with the range declared by Carlos Ghosn, Renault-Nissan CEO on his Indian visit in November 2009. Bajaj was given the work to design and develop the ULC and on the other side Renault will do the marketing.

Mr Bajaj was heard saying that 2009 November everything was going in one line. Then with mutual discussions between Bajaj and Renault . The companies agreed on putting the new strategy. Since then the car project has went through many changes.

In the Indian auto industry there are many rumors doing the rounds about the ULC project. Mr Bajaj to which has shun away all the speculations and has stated that there has been nothing hidden from Renault. The company was looking forward at frugal engineering which Bajaj on the other hand has great working hands on it. These two car makers mutually agreed on it.

The speculations are strong that Renault will decide after the witnessing the development as it wishes to be associated with the car brand or not. The ULC will be out there to compete with Tata Nano with an expected price tag of Rs 1.5 lakh. Also the company claims to deliver 30 km mileage per liter.
